Autism Spectrum Disorder: A First Responder's Guide to Communication and De-escalation Techniques

Course Description
An interactive course that focuses on evidence based practices of identifying the characteristics of Autism Spectrum Disorder, as well as how to effectively communicate with those on the spectrum in a First Responder setting. First responders will receive education allowing them to better recognize individuals on the spectrum, and through a scenario based exercise will demonstrate de-escalation techniques relative to on the job encounters.
